Ight, did ya’ll know that the Bible is more than just words on a page?

I know that sounds so simple and easy, but it really isn’t as simple as it sounds. I know witnessing the Bible come into existence through my team has been amazing to watch.

Upon arriving at our location, our team leads (because there is one other team here with mine) told us some pretty discouraging news. They told us that going into the community wouldn’t be happening. We were not allowed to leave the host location that we had gotten to. Our team leads are amazing though and told us to pray, bring it before God, and seek Him in this; yet at the same time presenting the location we were at as a ministry opportunity.

They were able to get us into town, which is Chichicastenango. It wasn’t the host who was preventing us from going into the local community, he was being prevented by the community leaders. So we all were in a situation that was tough for us. We then were told to pray, and I thought of the time Jesus told a parable about prayer.

“But I tell you this—though he won’t do it for friendship’s sake, if you keep knocking long enough, he will get up and give you whatever you need because of your shameless persistence. “And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”

Luke 11:8-10

But God! He heard our prayers, our unceasing and consistent prayers about going into the community. He heard the host’s prayers and saw all of our desires about sharing His Love and Kindness with the community people. So He answered, by first allowing us to worship, preach, and pray with the police officers. They eventually invited us to play soccer with them.

Enjoy these pictures! Look forward to the continuation of this amazing story God is writing.
