But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”

Matthew 19:14

I sat with so much joy inside of me as I watched my brothers play and laugh with these Haitian kids. These kids were energetic, fun, and filled with joy. They laughed and ran circles around my brothers; but no one was without, for just thirty minutes, these kids were full. They were experiencing the fullness that God had to offer them, the joy, excitement, love, and adoration He promises.

I saw my brothers become very much like Christ. We brought a basketball, but these kids wanted to play soccer; so that’s what they did. We laughed as these kids played soccer with a basketball. It then dawned on me that THIS was what God was talking about in this verse.

We are all His children and He wants to offer us that much joy, excitement, love, and adoration. He wants to laugh with us, play with us, and send us out to go play with His other children. He wants us to go and invite the lost children back home so that He can give them all that they desire.

I’m currently in Sosua, where drugs are offered on the streets, women offer themselves to you, and the happiness of this world is seemingly boundless. No one looks full though. They all look like dead men walking, repeating every night hoping that one time they will feel satisfied. They have lost their childlike wonder and excitement, thinking they are being satisfied in the graveyard.

There is only one way to be satisfied in this life and that’s through Jesus. He sacrificed himself as the final payment, He paid in full so that we could be full!

So I’m sitting here getting ready to bring childlike wonder to a graveyard and feed these people the Bread of Life. I’m excited because I saw a glimpse of what God wants to offer everyone lost and broken; a joy unlike anything else, a love that is never failing, and an excitement for life knowing there is more. Are you excited to share what God has given you? Are you ready to invite others into a family where they get to receive joy, excitement, love and adoration?

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
